Know someone who needs a little pick-me-up? February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day! Recognized every year, Random Acts of Kindness Day is a day to spread a little joy with the “pay it forward” mentality. We asked our team members to share how they’re celebrating and to help inspire others by telling us about an act of kindness they’ve taken part in. Here are their responses:
This past Christmas, Nancy and her husband wanted to give back to their community by cooking a Christmas dinner for a local family in need.
“We had a full Turkey dinner with all of the fixings plus many desserts. We delivered it to the family on Christmas Eve just in time for dinner, and they were beyond grateful. It was a great way to help and it showed my kids that these small acts of kindness really go a long way for someone who needs it.”
Winter in Quebec is no joke! That’s why, when Jordache saw a car stuck in the snow in -30O weather, he wanted to help!
“I stopped and helped the two young fellows push and remove the snow from under their car.”
Martin St. Laurent
When Martin saw that his local community donation box was being vandalized, he decided to help! Every week, Martin takes time out of his schedule to look after and clean the box in his community.
After a tragic loss, Carol supported a customer and sent her condolences by sending them flowers after their loved one passed away.
Last Christmas, Lisa bought and delivered boxes of toys to underprivileged children in the Edmonton area to help spread some holiday cheer.
During a challenging time, David stepped up to the plate for his team and took on new responsibilities to help support his team inside and outside of the workplace.
Now it’s your turn! How are you going to spread some kindness?
